Music Therapy New Zealand is our national organisation, established in 2000, enabling music therapists working in NZ since the 1970s a professional body though which to develop and promote music therapy in NZ.

Here in NZ, registration is maintained by the New Zealand Music Therapy Registration Board. In order to gain their practicing certificate and registration in NZ music therapists must hold the appropriate qualification and adhere to the MThNZ Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, undertake ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.
